“The care of the earth is our most ancient and most worthy and, after all, our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it, and to foster its renewal, is our only legitimate hope.”
― WENDELL BERRY
At Colorado Mountain Jam, our mission is to offer a diverse gourmet line of jams and jellies that are as nutritious and healthy for you as they are delicious and pleasurable to eat. Our home is the historic, fruit growing town of Palisade, Colorado. With its hot dry days and cool nights, Palisade produces some of the best tasting fruit in America. We buy the highest quality fruit from growers who, just like us, are committed to the land, and we grow the plums ourselves. Our Plum Daisy Kitchen is located right in our plum orchard!
We make the jams in small batches to capture the greatest possible concentration of flavor. Thickened the old-fashioned way by slowly cooking down the fruit, the jams contain no artificial ingredients, colors, or preservatives. Because the fruit has been allowed to sun-ripen on the trees and develop full flavor naturally, the jams need minimal added sweetener. They contain one of the lowest, if not the lowest, amounts of calories, sugar, and carbohydrates of any jam on the market.
Our careful process results in jams that are beautiful in appearance reflecting their natural fruit color. They are intensely flavorful, incredibly rich tasting — brimming with whole fruit goodness!
We apply the same standards to making our wine and beer jellies as we do to making our jams. Always, our commitment is to quality. The wine jellies and beer jellies are as distinct in taste as the wines and beers from which they are made. The process that we have developed over time enables us to capture all their individual characteristics in every jar. To ensure that they retain all of their complex nuances, the wine and beer jellies are made in small batches with careful attention given to the entire process. We leave it to our customers to enjoy them!
From our very beginnings, with ever present smiles, good humor, dedication, and grace, Adriana, Marisa, and Leticia have helped make Colorado Mountain Jam what it is today. We owe them an enormous debt of gratitude.
